Emília Rigová won the 23rd year of the Oskar Čepan Award!
Emília Rigová (1980, Trnava)
She graduated from the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica, and received her Ph.D. in Juraj Saparu’s atelier (academical sculptor). In her work, she is engaged in social stereotypes and gender politics. She is interested in the perception of ethnic groups, especially the Roma minority.
Her latest exhibition in ERIAC (European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture in Berlin), where she is exhibiting together with Robert Gabris, is called Forest exhibition. An exhibition on the narratability of Roma Trauma was launched on the International Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Romani Holocaust.
