All literature can only be borrowed in the MRK Library in person and based on a previous e-mail / telephone order.

 

The systematically created library of the Museum of Romani Culture has a substantial role to play within the mission of the Museum in relation to the Czech society.

It has deserved its extraordinary position in Europe thanks to its unique collection of books and periodicals. The library of the Museum of Romani Culture gathers Romani and non-Romani literature, published in Czech, Romani and other world languages. Currently, its fund contains nearly 11.000 library items, including periodicals. In the library you can find books mapping the history, culture, art and lifestyle of the Roma in the Czech Republic and abroad, as well as the Roma poetry, fairy tales, prose, song lyrics, expert studies and theses. The library subscribes to selected Romani periodical published in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Periodicals, books and separates for study can only be ordered electronically - based on prior registration.

 

Even an unregistered reader can view the database of the MRK library online. There is no registration fee in our library.

 

We recommend ordering titles from the library at least a week before your personal visit.

 

First visit to the library and registration of the reader:

Those interested in library services fill out the FORM. The application can be filled out electronically and sent by e-mail together with the first order for a visit to the library. The application can also be filled out directly in the library. On your first visit, you will sign the application form and receive a personal code and PIN.

 

An unregistered reader can order titles by e-mail or phone (title and accession number of the publication) before his first visit to the library. Such an order will be accepted by the librarian, but the books will not be physically issued to the reader until his personal registration.
